I am excited to announce the publication of Love Ain’t Neutral: a soul+FULL journey through the seasons available in print now and for pre-order on Amazon Kindle.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and this is a very special manuscript that I wanted to share about my experiences of persistent depressive disorder (dysthymia), grief, and the challenges of showing up in an increasingly complex world. I wanted to create something that could be a ‘space’ for people who might be struggling to draw hope that even though they might be grappling within, the feelings they are experiencing are seen and you/we/them are seen.
In a way, you could say this took my whole Life to write, but more specifically, the majority of the past decade.
It’s hard to believe it but this is my 15th book project, with my first book being birthed in 2012, and the last in 2019. The big difference in publishing today versus the last time I undertook this is how much easier it is.
I’ve heard it said that the writing is the hard part but I find as an artist, I just want to create and the hardest parts are really:
Get out the way - I hear people say they wish they could write or do something creative. They can and should. We all have a unique perspective that can add value, and we might never know the full depth of that value, but if it a creative act inspires one other person, that’s moving our Collective Consciousness forward.
“But I don’t know where to start or how…” - All the technical elements to make your work go live like correct formatting in publishing might feel like nightmare season. The good news is that today there are so many resources and tools out there to bring any project from the ether to the physical plane. The only thing standing in the way is not asking for help, whether that be through ChatGPT, Google, YouTube, etc. or looking to another person for guidance.
If you feel in Heart, that you have something creative to release, share that Light with the World. And no matter what, wherever you are in the Journey, enjoy as much as can.
Should you happen to scoop a copy, much mahalo! And if can, please leave a review!
Most of all, THX for being out!
