By now, you’d think we would be pau (finished) with the ongoing global pandemic. At least, haven’t they predicted it would end a number of times? Or did they predict that it would keep mutating because not everyone got vaccinated, then boosted, or isolated, or wore masks, this, that, insert here, TBD, all of the above, etcetera, meh?
I write this having tested covid positive twice in the last week. Prior to that I tested negative three times, but a close contact exposure, sore throat and aches, gave me an inkling I needed to test again. And sure enough, there you have, this up to date vaccinated/boosted in fairly awesome health not-so young, but not exactly old human + being has covid.
First thoughts: it’s about time.
It’s been going on for almost 2.5 years and each variant eludes the effectiveness of medical technology while also growing more transmissible.
Second thoughts: I can’t taste!
If it were a picture, the contrast would be turned way down, resulting in an almost dull image masquerading on an otherwise vibrant timeline.
Going through this, my awe for Nature only widens. This illness has found its way to survive and thrive in its hosts, causing a myriad of symptoms and for my journey TBD for an aftermath.
Speaking of which…
As I finish this writing, I am fresh off of working out for the first time since testing negative for the first time. While I no longer technically have the virus, or a high enough viral load to test positive, I think, I still have lingering symptoms, which get a little better each day.
That said, I was surprised at how exhausted I felt for what would have otherwise been a not too crazy weight-training circuit. The good news is while the workout itself was hard to get through, mainly bc I felt winded quite quickly, recovery seems to be okay. I feel it but I’m not sidelined by the delayed onset muscle soreness.
There could be a few reasons such as lighter weights and more rest between sets but I’ll take whatever joy, even the smallest, and enjoy as best as I can.
With that, good vibes and wishes for all out there. Be safe and be well.
