“The best camera is the one you have on you.” - Ronen Zilberman
As I’ve explored the world around me over the last decade, I’ve discovered street photography to be wonderful companion whether at home or across the ocean. From 1:1 art experiences waiting to be found within each moment to soul many stories told as people flow on by, there truly is magic in Life.
This shot here was taken in February of 2018 in Osaka. That trip was our first together, and international no less, and it was also a needed respite from some craziness at work.
It’s one of my favorite photos ever.
I can’t say why exactly. I just love the contrast of the light and shadows. Often when I see something I want to make a picture of, it’s just something that strikes as I think this will be really cool. I shot this on film too so there was the suspense of having to wait and see how it turned out made each shot, within every roll, that much more meaningful.
And BTW, Nintendo just released The Legend of Zelda concert, which was recorded in Tokyo, and you can check it out here:
Here are some more moments that I enjoyed and I hope you do too.
