It’s been an odd season for me as an artist and creative. Much of my mental and emotional energy has grappled with the different facets of navigating the challenges of daily life and while I’ve done a few creative things here and there, I’ve not entirely been in the space to create, like really create.

And the surprising a-ha is…
I think I’m okay having not been as prolific creatively this year because the reality is that I needed a break from being hyper-creative and also to process what my experiences have been.
I’ve also been reflecting on and planning out the type of artistic projects that I want to work on in order to create deeper and meaningful, lasting work.
Perhaps the overarching theme of this season that I hope to exit with is to continue growing in being more intentional with each new chapter. And, who knows, there’s still time left in ‘23…
Speaking of time, when I was younger, I often thought of arrival. I talked a bit about that here. I was also in quite a bit of a rush. Now that I’m in my early 40s, it’s the juxtaposition of I’m not that old while also not that young. Regardless of age, we never know when its our expiration. What’s the rush?
I’ll need to write more about this but the other morning a thought hit me, in order to glow up, you have to show up.
Want to be in better shape, got to do whatever it takes to get there from cleaning up the diet and/or fasting, working out, taking up active hobbies, working on the mental and emotional so you’re not holding on to shit.
Want to level up at work? You have to learn the skills, ask for advice, apply it, and most importantly, go for it.

We’re living in a new golden era of Professional Wrestling. From The Bloodline to Judgment Day to the American Nightmare and Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins to The EST Bianca Belair and Damage CTRL, WWE has been on a tear while AEW provides a unique, fun alternative with the generational talent that is MJF, Bullet Club Gold, WWE Legends and Hall of Famers finding new life, and more. Add in social media platforms and YouTube, and there’s access to a large volume of wrestling content (including NWA, MLW, New Japan, and so many more), which also includes archives of some of the greatest matches throughout history. With the athleticism of today’s wrestlers and sports entertainers, there’s no shortage of new and beloved moments that only ‘wrasslin’ can create.
When there’s mud, we must remember the lotus, which grows in the mud.
